Sulfate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) are bacteria that can obtain energy by oxidizing organic compounds/hydrogen molecules and reducing sulfate (sulfate) to hydrogen sulfide. Essentially, this bacteria "breathes" sulfate. The SRB test is a vial containing a culture gel that will turn black if sulfide is present in the test sample. Determine the level of contamination.
